While we are primarily a Trauma and Neuro / Neuro-Surgical unit, we do care for patients with other types of diagnosis requiring critical care. This allows us to support our community, and the other ICUs at Mercy, while challenging our own team to continue to learn and grow in our nursing practice. Qualifications: Education: Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements. Common therapies seen on 4D are chest tubes management, lytic therapy, antidysrhythmic, low dose vasopressors, Bipap and high flow oxygen systems, insulin drips, and precedex. 4D works closely with Neuro Trauma PCU and ICUs for opportunities to cross train between departments. We are part of the Critical Care Cluster, which includes all ICUs and PCUs. 4D offers you the chance to deliver compassionate care in a setting that is busy, team oriented, and fulfilling. Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
