Job Summary Medical Assistants provide non-licensed medical support to medical care providers in an outpatient setting. Incumbents room patents; set up equipment and instruments; independently perform, and/or assist providers with performing, exams and procedures, including administering injections; with proper provider authorization, provide instructions, training and advice to patients; call in prescriptions; clean and calibrate equipment; clean and stock exam rooms; and provide proper documentation in patient chart. Incumbents may also provide front office services on a routine or back-up basis. Positions at this level provide the full range of duties described above. Assist with loading and unloading of participants from vehicles. Assist the transportation department with participants’ take-home supplies. Serve as a bus attendant on company vehicles while InnovAge drivers transport participants to/from center or medical appointments supporting participants while in transit and accompanying participants in and out of facilities. May rotate into In-Home Services as a Homecare CNA. as deemed necessary by the Center Manager. Creates and participates in group(s) and one-on-one activities in accordance with daily activity calendar when needed. Attend in-service and continuing education programs as scheduled and necessary. Other duties as assigned. REQUIRED Active and valid state-issued Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license Current CPR certification or the ability to obtain CPR certification. Acceptable vendors for certifications are from either American Heart Association and/or American Red Cross.
