Position Responsibilities: Assists with breastfeeding, adheres to infant abduction policy, and provides safe newborn transitional care. Assesses neonates at delivery, performs neonatal resuscitation, and completes initial newborn assessments on arrival. Safely initiates and documents emergency interventions, IV therapy, medication administration, and patient teaching. Demonstrates safe use of unit-specific equipment and follows all standard precautions and aseptic techniques. Performs dressing changes, specimen collection, glucose monitoring, urinary catheter insertion, and oxygen therapy. Reports abnormal findings immediately and coordinates efficient patient transfers with complete documentation. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and any additional applicable life support certification for Healthcare Providers is required upon hire with at least 6 months validity and maintenance at JHS for the duration of employment.
