We are a Stroke Center, Chest Pain Accredited, and a Level 3 Trauma Center. The unit sees 40,000 plus patients annually (birth to end of life). In addition to providing emergency services to patients of all ages the department supports victims of sexual abuse with specially trained sexual assault nurse examiners (SANE). The ED has about 80 staff members – Nurses, Techs, and HUCs. Schedule Details: This .6 FTE commits to 24 hours per week. This position is two 12 hour night shifts per week, hours are - 1700-0530 and 1900-0730, every other weekend/holiday rotation. This is not a seasonal or temporary position. What You Will Do: The Clinical Nurse is a competent practitioner who integrates theoretical knowledge with clinical experience in the care of patients and families. Care is delivered using a deliberate, systematic approach and practice is guided by increasing awareness of patterns of patient responses in recurrent situations. We Are Hiring: Registered Nurse (RN) - 5 Medical - 4 or 8 Hour PM shifts Schedule Details: Must commit to two 4 hour shifts from 7:00PM-11:00PM and two 8 hour shifts from 3:00PM-11:00PM per week. Must also be willing to commit to weekend and holiday rotations. This is a part-time position with a set schedule. The Medical Unit at WMH is a fast paced, 53 bed unit serving a variety of patient populations. The staff here provide care for patients with a diagnosis of Sepsis, Acute/Chronic Respiratory conditions, including but not limited to: Trachs/Vents, Cellulitis, Urinary Tract infections, chronic conditions such as COPD, Heart Failure, Diabetes, patients on Dialysis, and acute drug and alcohol withdrawal. Our staff are also well prepared to care for medical patients with mental health conditions and those patients with Dementia. There are approximately 120 staff on the unit, including: RN’s (tenured and new), CNA’s, Nurse Interns, Health Unit Coordinators, Staff Development Specialist, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Charge Nurse, Assistant Manager, and Manager to provide full support to the staff.
