Overview Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing. Current RN license, specific to the state(s) you are assigned to work. One year of clinical RN experience in home health or hospice. One year of RN management experience. Current CPR certification. The wound care nurse assess, treat and create care plans for patients with complex wounds, ostomies, and or continence conditions. Cleaning surgical wound and helping a patient with pain management, and consulting staff on how to prevent pressure ulcers.

Responsibilities The Registered Professional Nurse at Northside Hospital independently plans and provides professional nursing care to patients in accordance with physician orders and established guidelines, and in accordance with the scope of practice as defined by the Georgia Nurse Practice Act. Qualifications REQUIRED: Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing Licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations. Must hold Certified in American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS). Work Hours: 6-430, 630-5 Weekend Requirements: No On-Call Requirements: No Identifies, manages, and treats specific skin conditions, such as pressure injuries, diabetic, venous, or arterial ulcers, and traumatic or complicated wounds. Provide wound care to assigned residents in accordance with physician orders, following manufacturer recommendations and appropriate techniques. Completes a thorough and accurate wound assessment upon notification of wound. Completes follow-up assessments weekly and as needed. Documents all assessments in the medical record. Confers with the care plan team in developing the comprehensive care plan. Documents resident care problems, abnormal findings, and changes in resident’s condition. Report to physician, supervisor, and resident/representative. Monitors implementing preventive measures such as turning/positioning, pressure relief devices, nutrition/hydration measures, and toileting/incontinence care.
