Job Summary The Charge Nurse reports to the Clinical Staff Manager, and plans, directs, and evaluates the overall nursing care and functions in a particular nursing unit or during an assigned shift. Coordinates the activities of the unit and directs, organizes, and assigns work to the nursing staff. Assesses, monitors, and educates the nursing staff on patient care. The Charge Nurse delegates, coordinates and readjusts patient assignments. The Team Lead will demonstrate expertise as a clinician and coordinator of service lines assigned. The position is responsible 24/7 for the coordination and serving as a resource in the service lines and designating a replacement Team Lead in their absence. Supervising care treatment and services of patient care provided by LPNs, CNAs and other staff on assigned unit and shift. Developing, implementing, and evaluating an individual plan of care for each client. Assessment and re-assessment of patients. Communicating appropriate information with the interdisciplinary team. Reporting client concerns and changes in condition to supervisor and/or physician in a timely manner. Job Requirements Our Nurse Manager position assists the Clinic Manager in performing professional supervisory nursing practice in the care of patients suffering from the most advanced stage of chronic kidney disease, known as End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD). The position is responsible for maintaining the quality and adequacy of patient care, for recognizing and assisting in solving professional, administrative, and supervisory problems in the clinic. Position exercises considerable judgment in applying professional knowledge in solving nursing problems within established policies and practices. Work Experience Registered Professional Nurse (RN) with current state licensure; BSN preferred. 12 months nursing experience. Meets all state/licensing requirements. 6 months experience in kidney failure or transplant care, including dialysis. Supervisory experience preferred. 3-5 years in clinical and management roles in ESRD preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Effective communication skills with clients and staff.
