Job Summary As a Registered Nurse in the Float Department , you’ll be a versatile clinical expert providing age-appropriate, culturally responsive care across Grady’s health system. You’ll guide patients and families through treatments, ensure continuity of care, and promote safe and healthy practices. Floating to various specialized units, from Acute Care and Orthopedics to ICU and Oncology, you’ll bring your expertise to diverse patient needs and environments, addressing staff shortages across different areas of the hospital. This role requires flexibility and agility, as you’ll be adapting to the unique demands of each unit you serve. In this dynamic role, you’ll masterfully use the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation—to achieve exceptional patient outcomes. Beyond direct care, you’ll be a patient advocate, a skilled communicator, and a leader in performance improvement, collaborating with healthcare teams and bringing your expertise to every unit you serve. Qualifications Active Georgia RN license required. Must be able to work across Med/Surg, Orthopedics, Oncology, Telemetry, ICU, and more, based on your credentials. Associate Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Med-Surgical Units: 1+ years of experience, ICU & Stepdown Units: 2+ years of experience. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required for ICU and Stepdown Units, Med-Surgical. ACLS Certification required for: All Critical Care, Emergency Care Center (ECC), GI/Cath Laboratory, Labor & Delivery, All Intermediate Care units, Post-Acute Care Unit (PACU). PALS required for the ED/ECC. NIHSS required for Neuroscience Units. NIHSS required for 4A Mother Baby unit. Certified Nurse Midwife Days

Summary Performs comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, orders, conduct, supervises, interprets diagnostic and laboratory tests and prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments in the direct management of obstetrical and gynecologic conditions. Promotes healthy pregnancies and neonatal outcomes. Practices autonomously and in collaboration with other health care professionals to treat and manage obstetrical conditions. The role of Clinical Nurse Midwife includes direct patient/family care, resident/ midwifery education, consultation, patients/ families/ group and community advocacy to holistic care for complex patient care needs. Serves as a member of the care team with the primary responsibility of managing pregnant patients who seek care in the Family Birth Center under the supervision of the Labor and Delivery supervising attending. Responsible for providing prenatal education and support, attending childbirth, providing encouragement during labor and delivery, and supervising the general care of women and children directly after birth. Provides care to women during normal pregnancies and deliveries and calls on obstetricians or other physicians if complications develop. In addition, the certified nurse midwife will evaluate and manage gynecological conditions under the supervision of a physician. Qualifications Bachelor�s Degree Nursing BSN and successful completion of nurse midwifery program accredited by the American College of Nurse Midwives (ACNM). Registered Nurse - Dedicated Education Unit - PRN

Job Description SUMMARY The Registered Nurse - PRN, is responsible for providing age-appropriate, culturally and ethnically sensitive care, maintaining a safe environment, educating patients and their families about healthy practices and treatment modalities, assuring continuity of care, coordinating the care across settings and among caregivers, managing information, communicating effectively, and utilizing technology. The Registered Nurse Pool utilizes the nursing process which includes the components of assessment, nurse diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning and coordination, implementation, and evaluation. The role of the Registered Nurse Pool also includes, patient advocacy, teaching, performance improvement, leadership and professional development. As a member of the health care team, Registered Nurse Pool demonstrates nursing expertise, as a clinician, leader, collaborator and innovator of care and services. Qualifications Current Georgia License as a Registered Professional Nurse. Associates Degree in Nursing required. Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred 24 months of experience is required Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required. Two (2) years of clinical nursing experience is required. PRN staff are required to work a minimum of 4 shifts per schedule, yet hours are based on the needs of the unit(s) and are not guaranteed. (Length of shifts may vary) PRN staff may sign up in advance based on the needs of their home unit or other units within the department and may also be called when needs arise. PRN staff must be flexible with regard to floating to other areas within the department as needed. They are considered the first to float in order to assure safe staffing requirements across the nursing units. Weekend Requirements: One (1) weekend shift per 4- week schedule. (Friday 7pm – Monday 7am) Holiday Requirements: Must work two (2) holidays per year: One major (Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year’s) and one minor (Memorial Day, July 4 th , Labor Day or Martin Luther King Day). PRN/Pool minimum requirement is four 12 hour shifts per 4 week schedule or four clinic (outpatient) shifts per 4 week schedule. Depending on the clinic, the shift is either 8 hours or 10 hours, to explain why the shift is not numerical.
