Description JOB SUMMARY AND SCOPE Performs medical assisting functions to support the provision of care within the physician department. Schedules patients for procedures in OR and any outpatient test (x-rays, labs, etc), if applicable. Communicate with patients via various communication avenues, including secure messaging. Participates with any department quality indicators. Responsible to collect provider quality data as requested. Completes daily, weekly, and monthly checklists with duties to include inventory management, samples management, and other monitors. Obtains working knowledge of IMMPACT procedures, policies, performance expectations, etc. as needed. Maintains compliance with all hospital policies as well as compliance with all State, Federal and CMS policies of licensing and certification. Responsible to maintain medical record privacy and security according to hospital policies and procedures at all times. Demonstrate a clear understanding of, and commitment to, the hospital’s mission, vision and values as well as the service excellence standards while completing all tasks and responsibilities. Provides coverage for other DECH physician offices when necessary. Seeks out needed information by staying informed and involved by attending meetings; reading memos, policies, meeting minutes, newsletters, email and other appropriate information in a timely manner. Uses patient handling techniques as appropriate to the needs of the individual patient in keeping with the Safe Patient and Handling and Movement Policy. Reliable attendance and punctuality, including observing appropriate break times and extending a scheduled shift when necessary to meet patient demands. Provides medication, diet and other instructions as ordered by the physician and recognizes and utilizes opportunities for health counseling with patients and families/caregivers. Works in concert with the interdisciplinary group. 7. Provides and maintains a safe environment for the patient. 8. Assists the patient and family/caregiver and other team members in providing continuity of care. 9. Works in cooperation with the family/caregiver and hospice interdisciplinary group to meet the emotional needs of the patient and family/caregiver. 10. Attends interdisciplinary group meetings. The emergency department staff also respond and support emergencies such as cardiac arrest, stroke, respiratory failure or patient instability for the inpatient units of the hospital. The Registered Nurse - Acute Care role provides high quality patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient outcomes. Collaborates, delegates, and communicates with members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal care. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs) Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred. Licensure/Certification: Current applicable state(s) license as a Registered Professional Nurse required. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
