Develop goals and objectives for the department; motivate and manage care team members to accomplish the same. Qualifications: Graduate of accredited school of nursing. Licensed as a RN in the state employed; license must be active, valid, and in good standing. Must hold an active CPR license or ability to obtain within the first 30-days of hire; CPR license must be kept active and current throughout employment. Valid CPR teaching certificate preferred, but not required. Three year of nursing experience, of which one year in a long-term care environment. Must have at least two years supervisory experience. The SICU is equipped with all the necessities, technology and emergency equipment for providing the full spectrum of care to the most critically ill and injured patients. Our patient population consists of critically ill or complex general surgery patients, as well as traumatically injured patients ages 15 years and older. The patient population in the SICU is 70-80% patients who have experienced a trauma. Most patients are suffering from injuries due to motor vehicle accidents, bicycle injuries, ski accidents, pedestrian versus auto encounters, traumatic brain injuries, falls, injuries from violent crimes and other serious traumatic events.
