Current CPR certification required. Attributes: -Work is performed both standing and sitting for up to 2 to 4 hours per day each. -The position does require bending and twisting of neck up from 1 to 2 hours per day. -Frequent hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. -Ability to make precise coordinated movements, of the fingers to grasp and manipulate objects. Frequent foot movement; may squat, crouch or sit on one's heels on rare occasion. Occasionally walks, bends and twists at waist. -Light lifting of 15lbs. with a maximum lift of 50lbs. May reach below shoulder height. Hearing acuity essential. -Color perception/discrimination, near vision and far vision correctable in one eye to 20/30 and to 20/100 in the other eye. -Able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. -Works independently and within guidance of oral or written instructions. -Performs a wide range of tasks as dictated by variable demands and changing conditions. -Relates sensitive information to diverse groups. Work is performed in a plasma center. -Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms. -Exposure to electrical office and laboratory equipment. -Exposure to extreme cold below 32 degrees F while performing functions in plasma freezers. JOB SUMMARY The Registered Nurse (RN) provides excellent care to our patients, acting as a frontline representative of our Patient Promise: “We are only and always about the patient. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provides complete patient assessment, including vital signs and pre-examination procedures. Gathers and assesses objective and subjective data from the patient. Documents data and assessments in the patient record. May use a computer system and information technology to ensure standard documentation, coding, and completion. Assists the providers in all aspects of the consultation, treatment, procedures, and follow-up care. Executing medical regimens and nursing interventions as appropriate for the setting and their competency. Patient health counseling and instruction, including meeting with families and caregivers. Medication reconciliation, management, patient compliance, inventory, education. Operating medical equipment. Maintaining medical supplies, inventory, and disposal. Ensures regulatory compliance with OSHA, CLIA, and HIPAA guidelines. The position may include triage of calls for urgent appointments, referrals for patient consults and testing, insurance pre-certification, and documentation. May use general office skills including keyboarding, office computer software, filing, answering telephones, email, faxing, copying. Excellent customer service skills are needed for interacting with patients, families, and caregivers. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES Required: RN with a current nursing license in state of practice Graduate of an accredited nursing program Current BLS certification through American Heart Association valid for at least 90 days after start date 1+ year of clinic nursing experience preferred Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as state, federal requirements Must be able to interpret and implement the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures of Proactive MD WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS This job primarily operates in a medical office environment and is required to interact with patients for the majority of the workday. The physical demands to perform the essential functions of this job are: Effective communication, mobility, ability to operate office equipment and travel intermittently throughout the day. Must be able to remain in a stationary position at their work area for prolonged periods of time. Employee will occasionally be required to lift office products and supplies up to 20-30 pounds. Job Responsibilities Assists with the prescribed exercise and ROM activities which the resident/patient and Hospice aide have been taught by the Hospice Nurse. Provides assistance in toileting; positioning and transfer activities, frequent turning and positioning of a bed bound resident/patient. Provides or assists in ADL activities; personal hygiene, grooming, mouth, skin care and nails. Assists or reminds the patient to take medication, in compliance with regulations of appropriate regulatory and accrediting bodies. Assists with light housekeeping of individual's personal unit or room, including changing of bed linen, if needed and patient laundry. Feeds and assists with meals. Obtains temperature, pulse and respiration as supervised by the Hospice Nurse. Reports any changes in resident's/patient's condition to the Hospice Nurse and, if in a facility, to the facility nurse and documents the information , including the date and time of the report and the person receiving the information. Ideal candidates will have: HHA License in the state of MI Understands the hospice philosophy Minimum of one year experience working in hospice Dependable transportation
