With a higher acuity level than acute care and a supportive 4:1 nurse-to-patient ratio , this unit is designed to provide exceptional, patient-centered care. We’re seeking experienced RNs with backgrounds in Critical Care or Progressive Care who are passionate about advancing their skills and delivering excellent care in a collaborative environment. Schedule Details : Night shift. Three 12 hour shifts a week. Weekend requirement is every other weekend. Position Summary BAPTIST HEALTH WALKER HOSPITAL Administers patient care in an area in a hospital or inpatient setting where patients have an advanced illness or injury that routinely requires timely, intense, and complex care to stabilize and support the patient’s medical condition. These areas require a lower caregiver-to-patient ratio and highly trained team members with advanced skills. Responsibilities Demonstrates competency in advanced practical nursing skills and use of patient care/unit equipment as defined by unit specific requisite skills. Communicates appropriate information regarding the patient’s condition to the RN and other members of the healthcare team. Assists RN or provider during examinations and procedures. Documents patient data, and patient education according to Orlando Health and department specific guidelines. Able to perform triage functions, including assessing the patient and determining next step in care, working in collaboration as directed by the department nursing team or provider(s). Appropriately administer oral and injectable medications or immunizations per LPN scope and as directed by a provider. Maintains a safe and caring environment for both patient and family.
