Job Summary and Qualifications Position Summary: The Registered Nurse provides clinical and administrative support to the program. The RN performs therapeutic measures prescribed and delegated by the physician. Participates in patient education and rehabilitation and provides interpretation of treatment to the patient and the patient’s family. The RN coordinates unit activities and assures accountability of all assigned tasks. Essential Duties: · Conducts initial and ongoing data collection regarding patients individually and in groups and uses that data to initiate appropriate therapeutic intervention. · Identifies potential risk factors and communicates observations to the MD and treatment team. Implements interventions under the direction of the MD; such as safety levels, seclusion, restraint, etc. according to policy and procedure including associated documents. · Utilizes the multidisciplinary treatment plan and own knowledge and skill to guide interventions with patients. Provide comprehensive care to patients as assigned including physical, as well as psychological care. Overview The Registered Nurse (RN) provides nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process and standards of practice for a professional nurse. The RN is expected to perform all staff nurse activities and function as charge nurse when assigned. The RN maintains overall accountability/responsibility for assigned patients, even though some activities/tasks may be delegated to Technical Nurses, Patient Care Associates, and/or Sitters. Assignments are performed appropriately to age and developmental level of patients being served. Qualifications Age of Patients Served: All Age Groups. Required Education: Associate's Degree Specific course work: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
