Initiate care to stabilize patient and assist in managing life support needs by collaborating with physician and clinical staff, demonstrating appropriate admission, discharge and transfer procedures. Collect detailed patient history and symptoms, including vital signs, providing appropriate care in a timely and cost-effective manner. Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing in accordance with CLIA regulations and established polices and procedures. Report adverse treatments or medications in accordance with current policies and procedures. Prepare patient meals. Participates in QAPI activities including participation in accreditation preparation and survey process, and maintenance of accreditation, state, and CMS standards. Job Summary and Qualifications Under the general direction of the PACU Manager, coordinates and provides patient care and assumes individual responsibility and accountability for the provision of nursing care as related to the Cardiology Department. Administers medications, supervises cardiac stress tests and other non-invasive cardiac testing according to defined protocols, monitors patient vital signs and other appropriate hemodynamics, and performs continual patient assessment during patient’s stay in the Cardiology Department. Documents accurate nursing records and patient data. Coordinates patient teaching and post procedure assessment. Performs emergency cardiopulmonary resuscitation if necessary.
