Essential Position Responsibilities Order, receive, store, and distribute surgical supplies, implants, and equipment. Use inventory tools like automated units, handheld devices, and ERP systems for perpetual inventory and data entry. Ensure the correct supplies and equipment are available for each surgical case by reviewing the schedule and coordinating with vendors. Accurately track and verify patient charges for used supplies, including tracking serial numbers for implants. Oversee inventory vitality by forecasting inventory needs and assisting with managing the budget, identifying cost increases, participating in product standardization, monitoring for product expiration, and ensuring that product is rotated effectively. Assist with equipment maintenance, repair, and recalls, including setting up new equipment and coordinating loaner equipment or repairs. Achieve financial objectives by assisting in annual budget prep, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions in partnership with the financial manager and surgery leadership. Facilitate off-site pickup and delivery of sensitive documents, recyclable materials, soiled linens, and non-regulated medical waste requiring the proper use of personal protective equipment while ensuring accurate and detailed documentation is maintained as necessary. Maintain knowledge of interdepartmental software systems. Assist in stocking supplies. Follow all hospital and regulatory guidelines, such as those from the FDA and AABB, and maintain logs and databases as required.
