GRADE 19 LOCATION OF POSITION MDH, Magothy Health Center Anne Arundel County Department of Health Pasadena, MD 21122 Main Purpose of Job The main purpose of this position is to preserve, promote and protect the health of all Anne Arundel County residents by providing public health nursing clinical services to individuals and families who present to the Anne Arundel County Department of Health in its health centers or within the community. This position will provide services including adult and child immunization administration and compliance, reproductive health services, STI testing and Tuberculosis testing and treatment. The employee in this position must have a valid driver’s license, a reliable personal vehicle and be covered by automobile insurance. This position will be required to work day shift, evening shift and weekends as needed and be able to stand, walk, bend and lift 25 lbs. Minimum Qualifications Education : A Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university. Experience : None. Notes Candidates may substitute a Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and one year of experience as a Registered Nurse for the required education. Candidates may substitute two years of experience as a Registered Nurse for the required education. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Nursing classification or Nursing or Health Care Specialist specialty codes in the Nursing field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required education. Desired Or Preferred Qualifications The desired candidate should possess the following: 1. Experience with phlebotomy and vaccines. 2. Bilingual in Spanish and English. 3. Experience using Microsoft Office software as well as other related tools and systems. 4. Experience demonstrating strong communication, organizational and multitasking abilities.
