Placement within the range is based on years of RN experience. What You Will Do To provide direct and indirect nursing services to patients and families. Responsible for delegation and follows through to ensure delegated task is complete. Before delegating, analyzes each situation, determines and consistently applies levels of supervision needed (unsupervised, initial direction and periodic inspection, continuous supervision, or should not be delegated). Assesses appropriateness of physician orders and to question physician when appropriate. Documents per department/entity guidelines of care and policies and procedures. Comprehensive; representing detailed, concise picture of patient's care. Serves as a resource for other staff in managing unit specific documentation issues. Charting reflects a critical thinking/problem oriented approach to patient issues. Establishes a therapeutic relationship with patient and family. Anticipates problems to establishing/maintaining a therapeutic relationship with a specific patient and takes actions to enhance quality of nurse/patient/family interaction (problems may include: spiritual, cultural, language or other communication barriers; those imposed by nature of illness or health issue). Maintain DOD email account as directed. The HCW shall be responsive to all email and voicemail communications. Maintain documentation of all treatment provided in accordance with clinic directives and prepare such records and reports as may be required. All records and reports must be legible. Abbreviations must be only those listed in local instructions.  Assess each patient and perform triage duties as assigned. Formulate and carry out a goal directed plan of care which based on determined nursing diagnosis and patient outcomes, and which is prioritized according to patient needs and available resources including time, personnel, equipment, and supplies. Evaluate effectiveness of self-care given by all health team members, and contribution of systems, environment, and instrumentation in progressing patient toward outcomes. Provide treatment and discharge instructions upon patient release. Perform assessment/data collection in an ongoing and systematic manner, focusing on physiological, psychological, and cognitive status. Provide a safe and clean environment for each patient. Identify patient/significant other learning needs and implement appropriate measures to meet identified needs. Assist in planning, provide clinical direction and provide instruction to LPNs/LVNs, nursing assistants and ancillary personnel.  Perform procedural IV sedation, continuous IV medication drips, central lines, arterial lines, invasive ventilators, intraventricular drains and monitors, chest tubes, enteral feeds. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: * Education: Minimum ASN, BSN preferred. * Experience: Minimum 2 years relevant PICU experience required, within the last 5 years. * Licensure: Current RN License any state. * Clinical Certification: Completion of critical care training course or completion of an equitable platform (i.e., Essentials of Critical Care Orientation [ECCO], online course from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses preferred, but not required. * Life Support Certification: Possess current AHA or ARC BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications. * Security: Must possess ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance. The salary range for this position is $44.11/hr. - $105/hr. Compensation will be determined based on several factors including but not limited to skill set, years of experience, shift and the employee's geographic location.
