Licensed Practical Nurse

Overview A licensed practical nurse bears full responsibility for the quality of health care he/she provides to the residents at Seven Hills at Groton. A licensed practical nurse may delegate nursing activities to assigned health care personnel. The delegating licensed practical nurse shall bearfull responsibility for making an appropriate assignment, adequately teaching, directing and supervising the delegate(s), as well as the outcome of that delegation; all within the parameters of his/her generic and continuing education and experience. Properly order medications in a timely fashion per pharmacy guidelines.Ensure that the narcotic records are accurate for your shift. Certification: Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or be willing to obtain certification within three months of hire. Experience: Experience working with individuals with severe disabilities is preferred but not required. Skills: Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to improving the lives of others. Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly with colleagues, students, and families. Strong attention to detail, especially in documentation and reporting. Willingness to actively engage in physical and therapeutic activities, including mobility and pool programs. Commitment to respecting the dignity and human rights of all individuals under your care. Commitment to ongoing education and training (12 hours of continuing education annually). Physical capability to meet the demands of the role, including lifting and assisting residents.
