The Licensed Vocational Nurse I (LVN I) is an individual with specific knowledge and technical skills to assist the Registered Nurse (RN) or Medical Provider.. The LVN I utilizes the Nursing Process to provide therapeutic care to a specific population of patients, under the direction of the RN or Provider. Essential Duties: Uses and practices basic assessment, participates in planning, executes interventions in accordance with the plan of care or treatment plan, and contributes to evaluation of individualized interventions related to the care plan or treatment plan Escorts patients to exam rooms, obtains and appropriately records patient vital signs/medication list, monitors patient flow, assists physicians with minor clinical procedures, performs EKGs, prepares patient chart with pertinent medical information, administers medication as directed by physician. Provides direct patient care. Administers medications. Demonstrates professional communication skills for the purpose of patient care, education and multidisciplinary team collaboration. Schedules diagnostic tests ordered by the physician as needed. Schedules and receives patients. Prepares and maintains medical records. Performs various administrative duties, including answering phone patient calls, returning phone calls, receiving and sorting in-coming faxes, obtaining prior authorizations. Enters charges into the system in an accurate and timely fashion. Handles telephone calls and writes correspondences. Serves as a liaison between physicians and other individuals. Takes patient histories and vital signs. Implements an effective and efficient patient flow. Performs first aid and CPR if needed. Assists physicians with exams and treatments as permitted by license. Organizes pharmacy refill requests for physician approval. Ability to work independently and in a team setting to accomplish duties in a timely manner. Triages patients in person and over the telephone. Ensures patient's right to privacy, safety, and confidentiality is maintained. Maintains a safe environment in accordance with standards, policies, and safety regulations. Ensures compliance with infection control policies. Performs other duties as assigned. Testing and ensuring proper functioning of equipment and presence of necessary supplies in the IV room, operating room, and recovery room. Perform venipuncture/phlebotomy and injections per Clinician or Physician order. Initiate, monitor and discharge IV per Clinician and/or Physician order. Receive patient from OR, including via wheelchair or gurney and transfer to chair appropriately. Upon patient admission to the recovery room, immediately check and record vital signs and general condition of patient. Participate in the PPLA Sedation Training program as both the SME and Preceptor. Provide Family Planning or MAB support services to clinicians as assigned. Job Overview The RN Manager is responsible for the administrative and business oversight of nursing patient care services at the assigned clinic or the Patient Service Center. The Manager works collaboratively with the Site Medical Director, Clinic Director, and Administrative leadership team to achieve clinic quality, patient satisfaction, and financial goals. The Manager manages operations and services that add value and are integrated with nursing standards of practice, service priorities, and performance/outcome measures, as well as with strategic, business, and organizational goals/objectives. The Manager is responsible for the planning, development, implementation, evaluation, and improvement of clinical care services/programs, which include patient experience, patient safety, HEDIS, and value-based care quality measures, budgets, etc. The Manager is also developing and implementing quality, cost-effective, efficient, standardized patient care practices, processes, systems, and protocols, and ensures all back-office staff are up to date on clinic objectives through maintaining Quality boards, presenting progress at staff meetings, etc. The Manager serves as team leader and provides mentorship and support for nursing and clinical support staff at the assigned location, and is responsible for staff development. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required, in lieu of a degree, 4 or more years of leadership experience. Master’s degree in health services, business administration, or management preferred. A current, valid license as a registered nurse through the California Board of Registered Nursing is required. Minimum of 3 years’ experience preferred in an outpatient or inpatient setting; ambulatory care setting preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a leadership role. Experience with audits and healthcare inspections preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish/Cantonese preferred. Prior experience with an Electronic Health/Medical (EHR/EMR) system is required. A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines. Generally, the teams are divided into a med/surg team and an ICU team, with the opportunity to cross train to areas of interest as your experience on the team grows. The Clinic Nurse Manager holds 24-hour accountability for the quality of patient care, efficiency of operations, and human resources management for area(s) assigned.
