The Department of Clinical Cancer Prevention is seeking an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) to provide high quality outpatient care in both the Cancer Prevention Center and the Breast Medical Oncology Center. They may split their clinical effort between independently managing patients in the Cancer Prevention Center and providing care within the Breast Center. This role will also include providing clinic back up support for Breast Medical Oncologists as needed. Cancer Prevention Center - May deliver prevention and survivorship care, patient education, and support for clinical research initiatives. The role promotes and maintains patient health across the care continuum through clinical practice, education, administrative responsibilities, research engagement, and ongoing professional development. Breast Medical Oncology - May run an independent survivorship clinic and collaborate with designated Breast Medical Oncologists within the Department of Clinical Cancer Prevention. Responsibilities may include managing patient diagnoses and treatment plans, conducting comprehensive assessments, managing chemotherapy related side effects, providing survivorship care, and triaging/supporting patients with breast cancer. The Department of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Medicine at UT MD Anderson Cancer Center made up of a talented group of physicians, CRNAs, physician assistants and many others dedicated to providing the very best anesthesia and pain medicine care for our cancer patients. Our department members are dedicated to growing a truly academic department in all three areas of our academic mission: clinical care, research, and education. We have nearly 95 faculty and over 110 CRNAs in the department working in an anesthesia care team model to achieve our goals. MD Anderson main location includes 37 inpatient operating rooms, 6 outpatient ORs, and 13-16 non-operating room procedural suites. There are two regional centers (Katy & Woodlands) with 6 procedural areas incorporating endoscopy, interventional radiology, and cardiopulmonary services. The total Case volume is over 55,000 cases per year. MD Anderson's Endocrine Neoplasia and Hormonal Disorders department provides comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services for patients with endocrine system tumors, both malignant and benign. Cancers of endocrine glands are rare, but their optimal treatment requires the same attentive diagnosis and therapy as more common malignancies.
