Our Resident Care Directors are responsible for: Resident Services : Develops and implements the highest standards for assisted living services. Works directly with the residents to evaluate needs and services. Conducts and/or assists with electronic evaluation of incoming residents, and with periodic re-evaluation, to ensure services rendered are documented and charged for according to Merrill Gardens’ policies. Implements services during new resident move-in; helps resident with orientation to and adjustment to the community. Provides direct care to residents as needed according to their identified service needs. Accurately assesses, communicates, and documents resident status. Observes and reports any significant changes in resident behavior and health to the GM, physician, and family per state regulations. Conducts regular meetings with residents and their families to ensure their needs are being met. Communicates with resident family members, physicians, and pharmacists as needed regarding residents and services provided. Ensures all Resident Rights and Responsibilities are protected and enforced. Recognizes and assists in the prevention of elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation and reports to the appropriate sources per state regulations. Addresses difficult resident behaviors with dignity and respect. Guarantees compliance of all State Rules and Regulations of assisted living. Supervisory Responsibilities : Provides team members with coaching, feedback, and developmental opportunities. Challenges and inspires team members to achieve results. Evaluates Team Members’ skills and competencies and ensures the completion of performance reviews. Sets clear expectations and holds team members accountable for performance. Oversees training and development of team members directly and indirectly managed; ensures training and certification of all AL staff is completed as required by Merrill Gardens and state regulations. Provides coaching, direction, and leadership support to team members to achieve employee engagement and customer delight. Mentors team members using electronic care system. Builds effective teams by determining adequate staffing levels, identifying and recruiting top talent. Prepares staffing schedules to meet all community requirements for standards of care. Administration : Adheres to budgetary guidelines established by Merrill Gardens. Coordinates with General Manager for financial stability of assisted living department from both census development and expense control. Provides General Manager with weekly status reports on all AL residents. Maintains all resident records and department documentation. Complies with state-mandated reporting as required. Audits AL services for regulatory compliance. Provides additional management reports as required. If you are someone with: Education : Current LPN/LVN or RN licensure, as specified by state agency, preferred. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent. First Aid/CPR certification within 30 days of hire where required by state. Completion of dementia training as required by state regulations within six months of hire date if applicable. Experience : 3-years - related experience, training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in assisted living, geriatric nursing, or gerontology and dementia care. Experience in medication administration and hands-on personal care preferred. Demonstrated ability in budgeting and cost control. Experience in operating an electronic care system. Physical Requirements: This role involves frequent standing, walking, lifting (up to 75 lbs), and assisting with resident care. Follows safety practices and helps to maintain a clean, safe environment. Administers medication, IV therapy and performs treatments to all assigned patients, according to policy and procedure. Expected to have knowledge of contrast and possible contrast reactions. Able to do sedation in Angio. Knowledge of sedation medication as well as reversal agents. Uses I Care principles to ensure proper patient identification, correct exam, and to improve patient communication and engagement. Able to assist physician with stress procedures. Expected to have knowledge of medications for cardiac stress procedures as well as reversal. Able to monitor patients. Reports pertinent patient observations and test results to the appropriate person (i.e., physicians, nurse manager, charge nurse and/or nursing supervisor) and records those observations accurately and concisely. Assists with or institutes emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in patients such as cardiac arrest. Able to recognize dysrhythmia. Expected to have knowledge of emergency and procedural medications. Able to hold arterial and venous pressure for extended periods. Works with manager/supervisor/staff to control inventory. Communicates problems and needs as required. Familiar with processes for multiple staffing locations to include: Inpatient, ED, Outpatient and Northport. Expected to be multi-task oriented. Registered Nurse (RN) PRN - Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)- Children's and Women's Hospital

Responsibilities Practices family-centered nursing according to policies and Nurse Practice Act; serves as Charge Nurse when assigned; supervises, plans, evaluates, and coordinates patient care provided by other licensed and non-licensed staff; utilizes the nursing process to assess the patient, plan individualized care, identify expected outcomes, and implement and evaluate nursing interventions for patients and families; provides direct patient care according to unit specific competencies; performs therapeutic procedures and assists with diagnostic procedures required for the care of the patient; administers medications to include controlled substances by all routes; administers blood and blood products; responds appropriately to emergency patient situations; starts IVs; performs activities of daily living; performs basic life support and management of cardiac/respiratory arrest situations; requires minimal supervision to safely perform patient care; when performing skilled procedures, the RN can state the purpose, rationale, precautions and observations related to that procedure; utilizes proper body mechanics when: moving, positioning and transferring patients without assistance or with assistance when needed for patient safety and when moving equipment that is necessary to perform essential functions; provides patient and family education by planning, coordinating and delegating, as appropriate, the educational needs of each patient; utilizes a personal computer or terminal to access the Hospital Information System; communicates and uses appropriate customer relation skills with physicians, patients, families and healthcare team in person and via telephone; responds promptly to unit and overhead pages; maintains accurate and complete medical records by utilizing the correct documentation tools and procedures: admission assessment completed within unit timeframe, flow chart completed with signature, discharge and pain assessment completed, MAK/MAR and restraint forms completed, completion of all applicable forms; transcribes physician orders; evaluates and finalizes the patient care record; accepts and completes all duties positively and without conflict; cooperates, helps others and improves the performance of the unit; completes all mandatory unit, educational and hospital requirements; utilizes cost effective practices in performing all aspects of the job; adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards; maintains unit in a neat and orderly fashion; demonstrates the ability to provide competent patient care to Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric patient populations; follows Heart Failure Protocol; participates in hourly rounds; when serving as Charge Nurse: identifies, organizes, and directs activities to utilize resources, personnel, and materials to meet the needs of the patient and nursing staff; communicates with the Nurse Manager and Nurse Administrator on an ongoing basis, regarding: changes in unit status, patient related issues, staffing issues, quality management issues, and other events as they evolve; acts as first line in problem resolution with other departments and any patient complaints; assists with shift duty assignments or serves as staff nurse as needed; verifies that emergency equipment is functional; demonstrates CPR according to American Heart Association standards; serves as preceptor for new employees and nursing students; adheres to all patient safety goals; adheres to all Standards of Performance; abides by and enforces all compliance requirements and policies and performs these responsibilities in an ethical manner consistent with the organization’s values; adheres to hospital policies including confidentiality; participates on committees as assigned; participates in Performance Improvement activities as assigned; regular and prompt attendance; ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required; related duties as required. Qualifications Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and a current Alabama RN license or current Multi-State RN License in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) for Alabama.
