Our patient management may include telemetry monitoring, continuous medication infusions, wounds, ventilators, tracheostomies, varieties of tubes and drains. 5MEDICAL is focused on the needs of the patient and helping one another to meet those needs. Responsibilities of Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA): Provide personal care (i.e., grooming, bathing, dressing, oral care, etc.) of residents daily and as needed. Change bed linen and maintain appropriate grooming supplies in resident room on a regular basis. Ambulate and transfer residents, utilizing appropriate assistive devices and body mechanics. Record resident vital signs, weights and measurements, intake and output, food consumption, and other information, as assigned. Observe residents carefully and report changes in condition to Charge Nurse. Participate in collecting data needed for the accurate completion of the MDS and the plan of care. Provide input to the nurses for development of the plan of care. Provide adequate hydration to residents at regular intervals each day according to specific resident needs. Prepare residents for each meal and transport to dining room (unless a bed patient) making sure that food tray is accessible, self-help devices are available (if needed), and assistance is provided to those residents who cannot feed themselves. Take TPR (temperature, pulse, & rate), blood pressure, weighing of residents, etc., as directed. Requirements/Qualifications of Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA): Current Nursing Assistant certification from New York. Current/active CPR certification, preferred. At least one (1) year Skilled Nursing experience preferred. Effective verbal and written English communication skills. Highest level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to communicate at all levels of organization and work well within a team environment in support of company objectives. Overview NaphCare is seeking to hire a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team of medical professionals in the Jacksonville Pre-Trial Detention Center in Jacksonville, Florida. As a Correctional CNA , you will work under the supervision of a registered nurse alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide care to the individuals in residence. Working within a controlled environment, where security is top priority and the days are never dull, you will have various duties to keep you engaged including assisting physicians and other healthcare professionals with examinations, taking patient histories, vital signs, supporting administrative tasks, etc. This is a unique position where you can make a difference to this diverse population of patients with complex medical needs. *New grads are encouraged to apply - we'll train you in the exciting field of correctional healthcare!* Responsibilities As a CNA , you will play a critical role in our continued mission to provide quality healthcare that protects the rights, dignity, and health of our unique patient population. Duties and responsibilities may include and not be limited to: Assist with performing patient assessments, interviewing patients about current health problems, medication history Taking vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, respiration, and weight Perform routine procedures under stablished protocols (to include but not limited to phlebotomy, EKG’s, dressing changes and wound cultures) Documenting medical history including medications, treatment and medical conditions Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) skills including bathing, dressing, feeding and mobility Providing basic wound care, basic laboratory tests, basic patient education and instructions Observing and reporting changes in patients’ physical or mental health to nurses Qualifications Requirements / Qualifications CNA Certification - Completion of an accredited CNA training program and passing a state-approved competency exam High school diploma or equivalent (GED) Be able to obtain CPR and first aid certification, may be required Must pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening Able to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information Display integrity, professionalism and be able to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements Physical Capabilities: Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.
