How you’ll make an impact in this role

Prepare surgical suites with specialized pediatric instrumentation, sterile drapes, and solutions to ensure a safe, kid-friendly operative environment.
Provide precise, proactive handing of instruments and supplies to the surgical team to maintain a seamless procedural flow.
Assist in compassionate transport, positioning, and sterile draping of pediatric patients, prioritizing both safety and comfort.
Maintain meticulous organization and rigorous count tracking of all surgical instruments to uphold the highest standards of patient safety.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
One or more of the following required:
- Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Assembles supplies, equipment, instruments, and all necessary items for scheduled surgical procedures in accordance with physicians’ preference cards. Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his or her responsibilities related to general safety, center/service safety, and specific job‑related hazards. Correctly uses, cares for, cleans, and sterilizes instruments, supplies and equipment as directed. Assists in maintaining adequate supplies in the operating room for immediate access during the procedure as well as storing and stocking supplies as directed Maintains and updates instruments cards/tray lists and surgeons’ preference cards regularly. Follows the center exposure control plans for blood borne and airborne pathogens. Reports observed or suspected breaks in sterile technique and acts according to policy. Location: Medical Center - Fort Worth Department: Surgery-IP/OP Shift: Weekend Shift (United States of America) Standard Weekly Hours: 36 Summary: To provide skilled technical care to the pediatric patient in the operating room according to their identified needs. This care includes but is not limited to: performing in the role of Scrub Nurse or First Assistant to the Surgeon and is delivered under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician.
