Position Summary

Qualifications

Education:

High school graduate or equivalent.

Training and Experience:
Listed with Texas Department of Nurse Aid Registry (or acquire within 1 year of hire or transfer from another department).
Current BLS certification required through American Heart Association within 90 days of hire.
Successful completion of hospital orientation within 3 months of hire.
Complete the following competencies within 3 months of hire or transfer from another department.
Patient transfers
Patient transport
Aseptic technique
Lab specimens / order entry
Unit safety
Body substance isolation
Role in Code Blue
Supply processing and ordering
Stocking of PACU
Assist with patient admission to PACU
