Job Summary and Responsibilities

Qualified external applicants with at least one year of experience may be eligible for a seasonal bonus up to $6,000!*

2/3rd paid within 1 month of hire, 1/3 paid at the end of the season (4/11/26). Must sign the Seasonal Incentive Agreement). PT and FT only

 

**$400/month Summit County housing stipend available for full time residents of Summit, Park, Eagle, Grand, Clear Creek or Lake Counties.  Must work at least 80% physically on-site at a Common Spirit facility in Summit County and full time or part time status (PRN ineligible).  More details available upon offer.**

As a Surgical Tech/Scrub Tech you will:

  • Work under the supervision of the surgeon and RN.
  • Assist surgical team during operative procedures by arranging and inventorying sterile set-up of instruments, equipment and supplies for surgical cases and passing items to surgeons and nurses as needed.
  • Assist in preparing and moving patients and sterilizing and cleaning instruments, equipment and rooms.

**All seasonal roles will have start dates in Nov. Nothing prior will be considered** 

 

**Previous OR Experience Required**

 

Day to Day duties:

  • Scrub on all cases.
  • Primarily, GEN, Ortho trauma/ totals, Sports Medicine, OB/GYN, ENT, Urology, and Spine cases. Surgical volume is 50% ortho, 20% general, 20% OB/GYN, and 10% other services. Associates are cross trained for all services, no specialized service Teams.
  • Giving breaks and/or providing additional supplies and sterile instruments as needed during operations.
  • Assisting with Room turnover and restocking for next day’s cases.
  • Maintain Sterile field during procedures.
  • Handing instruments to surgeons, anticipating surgeon’s needs.
  • Maintaining and updating preference cards.

3 OR Suites

Approx. 180-200+ cases per month

 

Schedule- 40hrs/weeks- variable shifts per surgical volume and current unit needs

 

Call required -Every night from 9pm to 7am is covered by call with an average call requirement of 7 nights per schedule period.  

30 min callback radius required 


Job Requirements

In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

  • Basic Computer skills required.
  • One year of experience in a surgical setting preferred.
  • Experience in a specialty field preferred.
  • HS Diploma/GED required
  • Completion of an approved Surgical Technician program required
  • BLS from the American Heart Association required
  • Current registration with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) as a surgical technologist for associates working in Colorado. * A person performing Surgical Tech functions within the scope of another Colorado license, certification, or registration does not need to register as a Surgical Tech required
  • Certification in Surgical Technology from the National Board Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Certification as a Tech in Surgery (CST) from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) required

Physical Requirements-Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)

The Surgery department at St. Anthony Summit Hospital has three OR suites, and averages 100 to 200 surgical cases per month, depending on the season. We specialize in orthopedic trauma, general trauma, sports medicine, OB/GYN surgery, urology and ENT. Our surgical volume is 50% ortho, 20% general, 20% OB/GYN, and 10% other services.
