Job Overview

Shriners Children's Ohio has an opportunity for a Certified Surgical Technologist. Join a team of professionals committed to improving children's lives. This full-time position will work ten hour shifts, 4 days per week and includes an on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

The Certified Surgical Technologist is responsible to provide direct patient care during surgical procedures as the “scrub” technician to assist the “circulating” nurse.
Maintain and prepare OR equipment, supplies, and instruments for a variety of surgical procedures.
Performs sponge and instrument counts.

Qualifications

Required:

High School Diploma / GED
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Certified Surgical Technologist

Preferred:

1 year experience with scrub and circulation skills
Prior experience with sterile technique, infection control, sterilization and disinfection procedures
Knowledge of burn and plastic procedures and instrumentation highly preferred
ORT pediatric certification

Prepares, operates, and maintains routine and complex equipment, instruments, supplies and implants. All duties are done under the direction of a registered professional nurse.
