Job Overview

Shriners Children's Ohio has an opportunity for a Certified Surgical Technologist.  Join a team of professionals committed to improving children's lives.  Our top healthcare professionals excel in their practices and provide compassionate, family-centered care to children who need it most.  This full-time position will work ten hour shifts, 4 days per week and includes an on-call rotation. 

Responsibilities

  • The Certified Surgical Technologist is responsible to provide direct patient care during surgical procedures as the “scrub” technician to assist the “circulating” nurse.
  • Maintain and prepare OR equipment, supplies, and instruments for a variety of surgical procedures. 
  • Performs sponge and instrument counts. 

This is not an all-inclusive list of this job’s responsibilities. The incumbent may be required to perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Certified Surgical Technologist

Preferred:

  • 1 year experience with scrub and circulation skills
  • Prior experience with sterile technique, infection control, sterilization and disinfection procedures
  • Knowledge of burn and plastic procedures and instrumentation highly preferred
  • ORT pediatric certification
