Overview

We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team on a part-time or per diem basis during weekends. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in delivering psychiatric care to hospitalized patients, working closely with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients.

- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.

- Provide medication management, including prescribing, monitoring, and adjusting medications as necessary.

- Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions to support patients’ mental health needs.

- Monitor patient progress and provide ongoing evaluation and interventions.

- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care.

- Document all patient interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately and promptly in compliance with facility policies.

- Stay informed of advancements in psychiatric care to enhance clinical skills and patient treatment approaches.

Qualifications:

Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing. - Current and valid Nurse Practitioner license in New Jersey. - Board certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) . - Experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting is highly preferred. - Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on empathy and patient-centered care. - Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. - Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and ethical standards in practice.
