Abington Maternal Fetal Medicine Nurse Practitioner

Job Details

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) specializing in Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) to join our inpatient team. This role is ideal for a provider with experience in the management of complex obstetric patients, including acute and ongoing antepartum and postpartum care. As an integral member of our MFM team, the APC will collaborate with residents, attending physicians, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care plans for high-risk obstetric patients in a team-based model.

Job Description

  • Provide direct patient care and consultation to high-risk obstetric patients, including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum management, with a focus on maternal and fetal well-being across the pregnancy.
  • Work closely with attending physicians, residents, and other healthcare providers to formulate and implement complex care plans for obstetric patients with multiple co-morbidities and high-risk conditions. Care coordination plans will include post-hospitalization and ongoing care planning.
  • Assist in the coordination and navigation of care for patients throughout the continuum, including the management of antepartum concerns, delivery planning, and postpartum follow-up for patients with complex medical or obstetric histories.
  • Perform non-stress tests (NST), transvaginal ultrasound (TVUS), and bedside ultrasounds as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation and billing components of patient encounters, care plans, and treatments in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Required:
    • Prior experience working with obstetric patients in an Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) role, with an emphasis on management of high-risk obstetric patients.
  • Preferred Skills/Experience:
    • Proficiency in performing non-stress tests (NST), transvaginal ultrasounds (TVUS), and bedside ultrasound assessments.
    • Experience working in a Maternal-Fetal Medicine setting or with high-risk obstetric populations.
    • Excellent communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills with residents, attending physicians, and other multidisciplinary team members.
    • Ability to navigate complex, rapidly evolving clinical situations with sound clinical judgment and decision-making.
  • Acceptable Applicants:
    • Current NP license and certification as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) or Physician Assistants (PAs) with prior relevant experience in obstetrics.

  • This role will require on-site work.
Candidate must be able to manage a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of clinical accuracy and compassion in patient care.
