Responsibilities The Surgical Technologist provides safe and efficient care to the surgical patient under the supervision of the registered nurse (RN) and in collaboration with the surgeon. The Surgical Technologist functions primarily in the scrub role and is responsible for selecting, preparing, and maintaining instrumentation, equipment, and supplies. The Surgical Technologist possesses knowledge in the application of sterile and aseptic technique and is able to adapt to unpredictable situations within the perioperative setting. Our state-of-the-art hospital in Jacksonville includes 34 operating rooms that include an IMRI OR suite and a dedicated endovascular OR suite. Candidates may be considered for placement into either the Surgical Technologist or Advanced Surgical Technologist role based on years of experience, specialty training, and meeting the qualifications of the higher-level position. The Advanced Surgical Technologist expands on this foundation by supporting complex procedures, such as Cardiothoracic, Transplant, Neurosurgery, and Vascular and by contributing to protocol development, specialty instrumentation management, and workflow optimization for advanced surgical service lines. Surgical Technologist, Reid Outpatient OR

Job Posting Summary *Up to $7,500 Sign On Bonus* Baptist Health is looking for an experienced Surgical Technologist to support our Surgical Services Team at our Reid Outpatient OR. This Surgical Technologist position is a full-time days position. As a Surgical Technologist at Reid Outpatient OR - No call, No Holiday, No Weekends are required for this position! In lieu of call, you may be required to stay over in the event of case overruns. As a Surgical Technologist for Reid Outpatient OR, your responsibilities include: Assembling, organizing and maintaining a sterile field for operative procedures. Anticipates the needs of the surgeon and progression of the case and prepare accordingly. Proper disposition of specimens and instruments. Works with entire surgical team to minimize anesthesia time and promote patient safety. Performs in first assist role in a variety of surgical procedures. Functions as a support to related departments within Surgical Services as needed.
