Provide and document assigned care , such as bathing, changing/refreshing bed linens, dressing/undressing, feeding, etc. Take and document the patient's temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, pulse oximetry, weight, and height . Perform treatment procedures, such as venous blood draws, enemas, application of ice and heat packs, non-sterile compresses, skin preps, setting up oxygen equipment, bed scale weights, setting up overhead trapeze and Buck’s traction. Assist with pre-operative and post-operative care, such as turning and positioning patients with proper body mechanics, applying/ utilizing special equipment and ambulating the patient as directed in a safe, prescribed manner. Assist and accompany patients during admission, transfer and discharge. Perform hourly safety round s, anticipate patient needs and respond to patient call lights promptly. Document patient care in the electronic medical record. Complete ongoing competency requirements, education programs and mandatory training to maintain certification and/or licensure.
