Summary SUMMARY The Float Pool RN performs therapeutic nursing interventions and manages the care of patients with conditions common to the various units assigned including, but not limited to: general surgical patients including outpatient surgicals; medical patients including infant to geriatric populations; critically ill patients; neurological patients; renal patients; oncology patients; cardiovascular patients; pediatric patients; subacute and rehab patients; altered mental status patients; orthopedic patients; and OB/gyn patients with the exception of labor and delivery or newborn nursery. Summary Provides direct and indirect patient care under the direction of a RN or physician. Assists patients with activities of daily living, provides for personal care, emotional support and performs more complex clinical skills under the direction of a RN.
