Knowledge of the dynamics of the disease of chemical dependency and its treatment. Knowledge of resources available in the community to support recovery. Working knowledge of psychoactive substance abuse, dependency and the principles and techniques based on best practices. Commitment to the use of evidence based treatment and preventative methods. Ability to incorporate this knowledge into a training program for employees, assuring training and hours needed to attain certification. Ability to monitor budgets and review program productivity and/or performance, and to assist in annual budget development. Emotional stability, maturity, warmth, openness and the ability to work effectively with a diverse, indigent population. More than five (5) years continuous sobriety and/or recovery from mood altering drugs, with active participation in recovery, if applicable.
