The Registered Nurse is a member of the Coordinated Care Clinic multi-disciplinary team providing care for a diverse population of patients and their families in multiple settings including the inmate population in the jail setting. This multi-disciplinary team will execute Patient and Family Centered Care principles when interacting with patients, their families, and co-workers and will address all aspects of life that promote health and well-being with an emphasis on social determinants of health. The Registered Nurse's main function is to assess, coordinate, implement, and evaluate the care of patients and their families. This position functions within scope of practice as defined by certification/licensure standards and state and federal regulations. Supports and implements patient safety and other safety practices as appropriate. Maintains professional competencies by attending educational programs, participating in professional organizations, subscribing to and reading professional journals or other appropriate activities. This classification ranges from entry level in the Correctional Staff Nurse (CSN) to the journey level experienced in correctional nursing, performing patient care with limited supervision.
