Nurse Practitioner – Ambulatory Surgical Center Job Summary: The Nurse Practitioner provides high-quality, patient-centered care throughout the perioperative process. This includes pre-operative evaluations, post-operative management, patient education, and collaboration with the surgical team to ensure safe and efficient care delivery. Depending on specialty and state regulations, the PA may also assist with or perform minor procedures. Key Responsibilities: Pre-Operative Evaluation: Conduct thorough histories and physical exams, review medical records, and order or interpret labs to determine surgical readiness. Patient Education: Clearly explain procedures, potential risks, recovery expectations, and pain management strategies. Informed Consent: Ensure patient understanding and proper documentation of consent. Post-Operative Management: Monitor patient recovery, manage pain, and address complications or concerns. Medication Management: Prescribe, adjust, and administer medications as appropriate. Discharge Planning: Provide comprehensive discharge instructions, coordinate follow-up care, and address patient questions. Team Collaboration: Work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and support staff to coordinate patient care. Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely records of patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes. Quality Improvement: Participate in performance and safety initiatives to improve patient outcomes. Required Qualifications: Active NP license and applicable specialty certification (e.g., Acute Care NP, Surgical NP) Prior surgical or perioperative experience preferred Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills Excellent communication and patient education abilities Ability to work independently and handle emergency situations Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle (mileage, tolls, and fuel reimbursed) Experience and Skills: Minimum 2 years of vascular or endovascular experience Proven leadership, organizational, and teamwork capabilities Proficiency with EHR systems and basic computer applications Wound care experience preferred Work Environment: This is primarily a clinic-based position, with an average of 15 patients per day and occasional vascular consultations in nursing homes. Exposure to bloodborne pathogens may occur; OSHA training is required. The role involves regular use of standard office and clinical equipment. NOW HIRING: NURSE PRACTITIONER Work Locations: Rochester, Buffalo, Albany, Schenectady Schedule: 8-12-hour shifts Rate: $85/HR JOB DESCRIPTION This means you will provide care for adult and pediatric patients facing chronic and complex conditions (e.g., co-morbid medical and mental health diagnoses, limited personal resources, chronic medical conditions.) You will perform histories, and physical exams and prescribe diagnostics as needed. As a result, the ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing treatment plans given the patient’s goals of care and current conditions. This will include screening for chronic conditions, management of substance use disorders, provision of vaccinations, wound care, and much more. An essential element of the role is the ability to meet the patient’s medical and psychosocial needs. Our FNPs perform assessments and provide treatment for patients facing substantial barriers to accessing the traditional healthcare system. Each day, you will meet your team at a pre-determined DocGo location. There, you will practice inter-professional collaboration with other members of the DocGo team to coordinate optimal care. In addition, you will optimize resources for desired outcomes consistent with state regulations, clinical standards, and DocGo policy. You will be supported by the DocGo team including administrative support and medical collaboration direction, which provides our NP’s and PA’s clinical and non-clinical administrative support. RESPONSIBILITIES Strive to be a clinical leader, particularly in an ever-changing fast-paced environment. Participate in professional activities including development of a clinical ladder and future APP DocGo councils. Be a team player and a mentor. Demonstrate a passion for the purpose of serving underrepresented populations. Each day, you will maintain patient medical records and medical documentation consistent with state regulations,DocGo standards, and policy through our HealthPoint system as well as Athena EMR System Participate in continuing education as required by the state where you are licensed. Prescribe medication as permitted by your state prescribing authority. Interview and examine patients to formulate a diagnosis. Order tests to assess the nature and extent of illnesses and injuries. Suggest lifestyle changes to remedy medical problems. Suture wounds and be able to recognize and treat orthopedic injuries Diagnose and prescribe appropriate anti-infectives as per the most up-to-date guidelines and DocGo policy. Order and administer vaccines to those eligible. Consult patients in mobile units as well as in brick-and-mortar locations. Provide care with cultural sensitivity and compassion while prioritizing customer service. Other related duties as deemed necessary.
