Our Endocrinology specialty is a collaborative and patient-centered practice specializing in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of endocrine and metabolic disorders. Our multidisciplinary team provides expert care for conditions such as diabetes, thyroid disease, osteoporosis, and hormonal imbalances, with a strong emphasis on individualized treatment plans and evidence-based medicine. We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to support our Endocrinology team. This role requires onsite presence at both our Lynn Medical Village and Peabody practices. Remote work options will only be considered, when necessary, based on patient access and business requirements. Job Summary The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a licensed provider. The NP is responsible for assessing and managing various patient populations, including those with medical and/or surgical conditions, as well as providing diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, developing appropriate plans of care, and conducting ongoing evaluations. May also perform additional duties, such as precepting a small group of learners. Does this position require Patient Care? Yes Essential Functions -Provides direct care, counseling, and education to a designated patient population in ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and/or procedural settings. -Performs complete histories and physical examinations. -Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests. -Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings. -Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures. -Consistently provides high-quality and timely documentation, including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes, and discharge summaries. -Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population. Responsibilities Provide care to individuals and their families from diagnosis through end-of-life including identification and treatment of acute and late effects of therapy. Work closely with the clinic nurses and provider staff assisting in coordination of care for patients under treatment and management of acute therapy side effects. Works with clinic nursing staff to triage patient telephone calls and provide recommendations. Fully integrate into section functions including multidisciplinary case conferences [tumor boards], faculty meetings, research and quality improvement projects when applicable. Actively participate in the Advanced Practice Provider team of the Dartmouth Cancer Center through attendance of monthly team meetings, journal club, biannual peer review process and annual retreat as appropriate. Prepares for, participates in and attends required conferences, meetings and committees as requested. Participates in clinical research, relevant to the medical oncology patient population, providing clinical care and follow-up assessments as required by protocol. Participates in the education and professional development of fellows, residents, nurses, medical students and other health care providers as appropriate.
