Overview NaphCare is hiring LPN in a PRN role to join our team of medical professionals in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where we manage all aspects of healthcare for the individuals who are currently incarcerated in the Forsyth County Detention Center. As a Correctional Nurse , you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide care to the individuals in residence. Working within a controlled environment, where security is top priority and the days are never dull, you will have various duties to keep you engaged including performing physical assessments, administering medications, managing chronic illnesses, and responding to emergencies. History from this farm can be seen and found on the campus today. 300,000 reclaimed bricks from a local mill, Belding-Hausman Mill, were placed into the exterior of the hospital and represent the dedication to the community they serve. The campus also has a 1.2-mile public walking trail that encircles the campus, winding past ponds and through natural wooded areas left intact on the land. Two medical office buildings that house many provider offices and offer medical services that serve the community can also be found on Atrium Health Lincoln's campus. Telemetry is a 38-bed unit caring for an adult population with a wide range of acute and chronic conditions including but not limited to chest pain, stroke, cardiac dysrhythmia, and COPD. The typical nurse to patent ratio is 1:5 on days and nights. The unit is energetic and fast paced with many opportunities to learn and grow. We work as a multidisciplinary team collaborating with doctors, therapists, and other ancillary staff to provide the best care to our patients. Major Responsibilities: Provides direct patient care according to established policies, procedures, and standards of care. Assists with assessment by collecting and documenting data, actions and responses including biological, psychological, social and cultural factors. Detects significant changes in patient condition and reports these to the registered nurse. Assists with developing the plan of care and implements as directed by the registered nurse. Supports and reinforces patient teaching according to individualized plan of care. Documents performance of nursing interventions and patient's response to those interventions and communicates effectiveness of interventions and changes in patient condition to the registered nurse. Communicates changes in medical orders to the registered nurse.
