Responsibilities may include: · Giving the shift report to on incoming staff · Provide clinical/supervisory oversight to the unit during a shift · Delegate assignments to the team assigned to the shift · Audit/assure completion of admission or discharge during shift with the RN’s cos-signature · Attend rounds (wound, physician, etc) · If acting in the capacity of charge nurse, may develop patient care assignments (appointing other staff, RN, LPN, or PCA to implement an established care plan for a designated period of work time), create schedules, and contribute to performance evaluations and educate other staff on HSL policy and procedure.
