Offer liquids when patient able to tolerate. Discontinue patient intravenous line when patient has been stabilized and the Aldrete score has been met. Maintain patient comfort. Serve as a liaison between patient family and patient care area. Maintain continuity by reporting on patient condition, status, within the post-operative area or changes in the caregiver.
