Position Summary (CMA) Under the direction of the physician, Charge RN or Manager performs direct clinical activities in a courteous, caring and respectful manner. These include patient intake, blood draw, pharmacy calls, EKG and any tests required by the physician. Responsible for accurately documenting in an EMR system in accordance with licensure and VMG policy and procedures. Maintains close working relationships with all practice staff to ensure proper workflow, care and treatment. (BA) Performs a variety of essential front desk activities that include greeting, registering, ensuring insurance compliance and collecting appropriate payment at time of service. Responsible for maintaining the daily patient schedule and answers all incoming calls that results in scheduling an appointment, medication refills or pass along inquiries from a clinical or billing nature, in a courteous, caring and respective manner. Coordinates with the clinical staff on any special needs or requirements and ensuring proper patient flow. Supports the Practice and professional staff as directed or requested by Practice Manager. Education High school diploma or equivalent and completion of a formal Medical Assistant program that is recognized by the State of New Jersey - Certification required. Completion of formal coursework in office management, database management or business, computer literacy Experience Previous MA experience in a clinic, physician's office or outpatient setting preferred. Six (6) months of previous customer service/data entry, administrative/office management/clerical experience required. Skills Current and valid certification as a certified medical assistant or registered medical assistant recognized by the Board of Examiners such as American Medical Technology (AMT), American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) required. BCLS certification preferred upon hire, will be required. How you make a difference In their role, the Director of Nursing (DON) is accountable for developing and implementing nursing policies and procedures that align with best practices and meet regulatory requirements. They work closely with the Medical Director to promote high standards of care and support the professional development of nursing staff to provide quality care to patients. Key Responsibilities Oversees daily operations and manages budgets, policies, and procedures to align with facility goals and objectives. Organizes service delivery, manage resources, and collaborate with other departments, facilities, persons served, families, and visitors. Leads quality improvement activities, provides direct supervision, and serves as a resource and consultant to nursing staff. Monitors safety issues, evaluate service delivery and staff growth, and adhere to the organization's Code of Conduct. Demonstrates knowledge of risk management, clinical precautions, infection control, fall prevention, utilization of special procedures, environmental checks, fire disaster procedures, and alternatives to use with regards to seclusion/restraint methods. How you make a difference The Nurse Practitioner (NP) under the supervision of the Site Medical Director and other site Physicians, offers a comprehensive range of medical services to incarcerated patients in accordance with established policy and state guidelines. They ensure necessary documentation of services is provided to the Site Medical Director or designee to monitor the provision of clinical services. Additionally, they communicate scheduling changes to the Medical Director and H.S.A. and make arrangements for coverage of medical services if unavailable for an extended period of time. Key Responsibilities Provides medical care to inmates, including conducting exams, chronic care clinics, and infirmary rounds. Maintains accurate and legible progress note documentation in SOAP format and adheres to formulary guidelines. Responds to emergencies and makes logical decisions regarding non-formulary drugs or off-site referrals. Supports existing policies and procedures for admission, transfer, and specialty consultant referrals. Maintains confidentiality and provides input into facility committees as requested. Experience Prior medical/surgical and/or emergency/trauma experience and corrections experience is preferred. Must have the patience and tact to deal with the inmate patient population and ability to work effectively in the corrections environment. Scheduling flexibility is also required to be able to rotate hours and shifts, if needed, and to be called during emergency situations to provide coverage. How you make a difference As a Registered Nurse (RN), your primary responsibility is to provide patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will work under the supervision of Charge Nurse(s) to provide patient education and activities in accordance with your competencies and education. This role requires excellent communication and critical thinking skills to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities Assist in assessing and planning individual treatment programs, consulting with Charge Nurse(s) and other staff as necessary. Implement medical plans by administering medications, obtaining diagnostic tests, and assisting with medical or minor surgical procedures as needed. Count controlled substances and implement clinical and technical aspects of care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols. Document nursing encounters using the SOAP form of charting as required by policy and attend mandatory staff meetings and training. Communicate information to nursing staff, physician, health care unit supervisory personnel or other staff as necessary. Qualifications & Requirements Education Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Experience Prefer a minimum of one (1) year clinic experience Licenses/Certifications Have and maintain current licensure as a Registered Nurse within the state of employment.
