Overview The Circulating RN Works collaboratively with Surgical Team to ensure patient safety and positive patient outcomes. Monitor Surgical cases for continued sterility, and support surgical team from outside the sterile field. Thorough and complete intra-operative documentation, as well as case set up and preparation. This specialty works while adhering to AORN standards and practices. Call schedule (after training is complete) for overbook and emergent cases only and at a small critical access hospital with two OR’s and one endoscopy suite. Variable days into evening M-F with no holiday or weekend regular hours. Responsibilities General Clinical Practice Utilizes the nursing process in caring for all patients, to include: assessing symptoms, planning interventions, implementing treatment plans, evaluating responses to interventions, and revising plan based on overall effectiveness. Overview Our Academic Medical Center is expanding to meet the needs of pediatric patients in our rural New England region who require inpatient psychiatric care. The Inpatient Adolescent Med Psychiatric Care Unit opened in Spring 2025. We are recruiting Pediatric RNs and Psychiatric RNs with a passion for supporting adolescent patients ages 12 to 17. The successful candidate will be flexible and have a team-oriented approach to care. Overview At the direction of the Ambulatory Nurse Director, and in collaboration with the Newport Health Center Practice Manager, provides guidance and leadership for the clinical practice of the staff in the ambulatory settings at Newport Health Center (NHC). Accountable for the quality of nursing care service, in accordance with the NH Nurse Practice Act, hospital policies, and the NH Board of Nursing rules for delegated nursing tasks. Overview Our Birthing Pavilion is a 21-room, 24-bed Labor, Delivery, Recovery and Postpartum (LDRP) unit. We average approximately 1300 deliveries each year. Approximately fifty-five percent of our patients are high-risk and are part of our Maternal Fetal Medicine service. We receive transports from all of New Hampshire, Southern Vermont, and occasionally Maine. We have a robust midwifery service along with a generalist physician service. We provide antepartum care, intrapartum care, postpartum care, normal newborn care, and focus care newborn care. We have a two-bed triage room in which we triage all of our own patients. Our unit includes two operating rooms (ORs) in which everyone is trained in perioperative care, i.e. circulating and scribing in the OR, and Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) services. We collaborate with many units in the organization including the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Cardiovascular Critical Care (CVCC), and the Main Operating Room to provide highly specialized care to our pregnant and postpartum patients. The Intensive Care Nursery (ICN or NICU) is next door to us and we have a very close relationship with their team. Schedule consists of 12hr shifts that rotate 7a-7p, 7p-7a across all 7 days.
