Responsibilities The Registered Professional Nurse at Northside Hospital independently plans and provides professional nursing care to patients in accordance with physician orders and established guidelines, and in accordance with the scope of practice as defined by the Georgia Nurse Practice Act. This position is housed in the Northside Hospital Gwinnett Float Pool and offers the opportunity to care for a variety of patient populations in our Acute Care units. Qualifications KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES, LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing Licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations. Must hold Certified in American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS). KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED: BSN degree Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). The position is PRN and you would work 4 shifts per month. 2 shifts would be Monday-Friday, and the other 2 shifts would be a whole weekend (Saturday and Sunday). While you are on orientation for 3 months, you will work 1-2 shifts on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. Experience BSN with two years’ clinical experience (3,000 hrs) or ADN with three years’ experience (4,500 hrs) Preferred Qualifications BSN Preferred Preferred Certified Dialysis Nurse (CDN) through Nephrology Nursing Certification Commission (NNCC) upon hire. If not CDN certified upon hire; strongly preferred to achieve certification upon meeting eligibility requirements. If unable to meet CDN eligibility requirements; preferred to achieve Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN) certification upon meeting eligibility requirements through PNCB. Previous dialysis or apheresis experience strongly preferred. Previous experience in a neonatal, cardiac, critical care and/or pediatric care setting strongly preferred Education Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. BSN with two years’ clinical experience (3000 hours), or ADN with three years’ clinical experience (4500 hours).
