Job Summary and Responsibilities Day Per Diem Family Birth Center Registered Nurse Mercy San Juan Medical Center is a not-for-profit hospital, a member of Commonspirit Health. Mercy San Juan’s Family Birth Center is the Level 3 High Risk Facility within the greater Sacramento Dignity Hospitals. Our Family Birth Center has 28 beds consisting of 12 labor beds, 2 Operating Rooms, a 2 patient PACU, 2 triage bays, and a 14 bed private Mother-Baby unit. We are Joint Commission Certified for Perinatal Care and we follow the 10 steps to successful breastfeeding. As a high risk facility, we receive Antepartum patient transfers from all over Northern California that can remain with us for extended periods of time until they can safely deliver. We have our Level III NICU adjoining our Family Birth Center that supports our patients and our care team. We average 150 deliveries a month supported by Nurse Shift Managers, a Perinatal Safety Specialist and a Perinatal Certified Nurse Specialist. At Mercy San Juan Medical Center we have an in-house OB hospitalist and a designated OB anesthesiologist to support our patients and staff.
