Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): Oversee the daily operations of the Emergency Department including patient flow, staffing coverage, and overall efficiency Supervise, support, and develop ER nursing staff through coaching, scheduling, performance reviews, and competency assessments Ensure adherence to clinical standards, hospital policies, and regulatory requirements such as Joint Commission and state requirements Works closely with physicians, charge nurses, and other departments to coordinate care during high volume periods, trauma activations, codes, and other emergencies Monitor key quality metrics like wait times, left without being seen rates, patient satisfaction scores, and clinical outcomes to drive improvement Manage budgets, supplies, and department resources to maintain safe, cost effective operations Lead or participate in training, onboarding, continuing education, and emergency preparedness initiatives Support patient safety by reinforcing best practices for triage, documentation, medication administration, and emergency protocols Qualifications EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1. Must have a current and valid state license as a Registered Nurse.2. BLS upon hire and maintain current.3. A minimum of two years supervisory/management experience necessary.4.
