About the Job: As a Registered Nurse Ambulatory, you’ll provide professional nursing care across our Foundation practices, including float pool support. Working collaboratively with providers and the care team, you will deliver safe, evidence-based, patient-centered care both in-person and through telephone triage and telehealth modalities. What You’ll Do: Carry out the nursing process—assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation—across ambulatory and telehealth settings. Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members to design and implement plans of care. Administer medications, vaccines, treatments, and perform point-of-care testing within scope of practice. Educate patients on self-management, medications, nutrition, health, and wellness. Document care accurately in the EMR and participate in pre-visit planning for patient encounters. Provide leadership and mentorship to clinical staff and assist with onboarding. Respond to urgent or emergent situations in accordance with facility guidelines. Stay current on competencies, licensure, and ongoing educational requirements. Who You Are: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Current Registered Nurse license in NH (or NLC state/MA) and BLS certification required. 1+ year of professional nursing experience preferred; ambulatory care experience a plus. Strong knowledge of nursing principles, EMR systems, and patient-centered care models. Skilled communicator with excellent time management, adaptability, and teamwork abilities. Overview The Dartmouth Cancer Center at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth seek an experienced oncology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work collaboratively to provide high quality, compassionate, evidence-based, patient-centered care through the Section of Medical Oncology in our Manchester, New Hampshire clinic. What we are seeking: An experienced nurse practitioner or physician assistant with experience in oncology, or a new graduate with experience as an oncology RN.A collaborative team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.An autonomous advanced practice provider with clinical expertise and organizational skills who enjoys working in a generalist role with a wide variety of cancer patients. Responsibilities Provide care to individuals and their families from diagnosis through end-of-life including identification and treatment of acute and late effects of therapy. Performs procedures as required for patient assessment. Work closely with the clinic nurses and provider staff assisting in coordination of care for patients under treatment and management of acute therapy side effects. Works with clinic nursing staff to triage patient telephone calls and provide recommendations. Fully integrate into section functions including multidisciplinary case conferences [tumor boards], faculty meetings, research and quality improvement projects when applicable. Actively participate in the Advanced Practice Provider team of the Dartmouth Cancer Center through attendance of monthly team meetings, journal club, biannual peer review process and annual retreat as appropriate. Prepares for, participates in and attends required conferences, meetings and committees as requested. Participates in clinical research, relevant to the medical oncology patient population, providing clinical care and follow-up assessments as required by protocol.
