Administers conscious sedation medication to Endoscopy patients per organizational policy and procedures. The RN will provide technical assistance to the physician during the Endoscopic procedure and ensures the Endoscopic suite is adequately prepared for the procedure. Monitors PAR levels of the Endoscopy equipment and supplies. Cleans and sterilizes the Endoscopic scopes and equipment as needed. As an RN for Endoscopy, being on-call will be required. What you will do Performs endoscopy procedure set up, including physician preference and expectations. Tests equipment for proper functioning and availability. Assists the RN/Physician with proper positioning of the patient. Maintains standards and principles of asepsis. Demonstrates proper aseptic technique in handling equipment and supplies. Handles, cleans, and disinfects scopes properly. Compliance of Universal Protocol, including procedural Time-Out participation and labeling solutions/medications on the sterile field.
