Job Summary and Qualifications The Registered nurse collaborates with the medical staff to coordinate the delivery of optimal patient care in the EKG department. What you will do in this role: Maintains established department policies, procedures, objectives, and quality assurance, safety. Demonstrates understanding and utilization of the nursing process from patient assessment to implementation of goal directed care with plan adjustments as indicated to ensure optimal care delivery. Directs and delegates patient care assignments to licensed and non-licensed staff based on acuity, needs of the patient, staff availability and qualifications Demonstrates clinical proficiency in direct patient care, procedural physician assistance, and therapeutic instrumentation. Employs effective communication techniques that promote customer satisfaction, enhance collegiality, and facilitate patient education. Demonstrates competency in the perioperative assessment of patients going IV sedation with appropriate implementation of remedial actions and outcomes evaluations Cooperates with other personnel to achieve departmental objectives and maintain good employee relations with collaborative integration of the health care team. Provides complete and accurate documentation of patient care and teachings. Assists with cardiac stress testing and other related procedures in the Cardiology department as needed. Has knowledge of Performance Improvement. Participates in and facilitates the case management process and cost containment for patients.
