Operates within the community. Maintains education and competencies to remain proficient to provide high quality patient care practice and skills. Incorporates evidence-based nursing practice taking into consideration current statutes, rules and regulations when developing the plan of care. Establishes, in the collaboration with the family and patient, realistic and measurable patient expected outcomes based on nursing diagnoses, patients present and potential capabilities, goals, available resources and plan for continuity of care. Identifies outcomes that are age appropriate, culturally appropriate, realistic and attainable. Coordinates, collaborates, and delegates appropriately to ensure care is provided in a safe, effective fashion. Fulfills all organizational requirements. University of Minnesota Physicians seeks a Physician Assistant (PA) or surgically trained Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join the Vascular Surgery clinical practice at M Health Fairview in a casual role. This is a tremendous opportunity to practice independently, while being part of a renowned vascular care team - which consists of vascular surgeons, interventional radiologists, residents, fellows, nursing staff and registered vascular technologists. We are looking for a motivated PA/NP who is driven to be a leader in the field, collaborative, and a team player who will cross-cover as needs arise at our other M Health Fairview Vascular Surgery sites. In This Role, You Will: Practice in a combined inpatient and outpatient clinical practice settings First assist in surgery as needed Evaluate and treat vascular patients in the hospital in collaboration with staff Vascular Surgeon Evaluate and treat vascular patients in the clinic independently Daily inpatient ward rounds with resident and fellow team, completion of discharge summaries and seeing consultations. Optimization of care plan, algorithm development, and coordination of hospital discharge. Refer patients to the appropriate vascular surgeons within the department and/or other specialists accordingly Extremity wound care – debridement, dressing, VAC placement Educate patients and families regarding disease process, interventions, and postoperative or post-procedure care Actively participate in staff education and administration activities Practice Sites: Fairview Southdale Hospital and M Health FV Vascular clinic in Edina Some cross coverage at St. John's Hospital, M Health FV Vascular Clinic in Maplewood, and UMMC East/West Banks and the Clinics Surgery Center. Schedule: 1-3 days per week depending on need and availability We’re Looking For a PA or NP Who Is: Experienced in caring for Vascular Surgery or Surgical patients with at least 3 years of experience. Experienced with OR assisting A graduate of an accredited Physician's Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program. Has a current MN PA/NP license and be approved by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice or Board of Nursing for prescription writing privileges Certified through the NCCPA/ANCC Able to meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges What We Offer M Physicians will provide compensation in the amount of $85-100 per hour .
