Description **This is a Casual position for the Immediate Care Center located at the Lake Bluff clinic. A minimum of three shifts in a 6 week period (1 weekend shift and 2 weekday shifts). With 1 shift minimum per pay period. 1 Winter and 1 Summer holiday required. These are 12 hour shifts from 7:45am-8:15pm. Assist in coordinating and monitoring activities of clinical staff to ensure adequate coverage and adherence to OSHA and CDC guidelines. Assist in orientation of new staff members. Perform other duties as assigned; may include Assist in specific process improvement projects. Administer intravenous and injectable medications to adult, geriatric and wheelchair bound patients. Must demonstrate competency for age related responsibilities. Quality control must be maintained during all aspects of patient care. The triage nurse ensures that all exam rooms and equipment are maintained according to OSHA and CDC guidelines. Participates in departmental quality improvement activities.\ For triage nurses in the Immediate Care Clinics (ICC), float to other ICCs/departments. Qualifications Required: Graduate of accredited RN program. At least 3 years of experience in a hospital or outpatient setting. A current Registered Nurse License issued by State of Illinois. The Advanced Practice Provider will be responsible for comprehensive direct patient care management and will manage patients by exercising autonomous decision making in the assessment, diagnosis, and initiation of delegated medical treatments. The Oncology Rapid Assessment Clinic (ORAC) i s an APP-staffed clinic area that cares for cancer patients who require urgent, same day/next day assessment and treatment. After an orientation period, the APP will work autonomously and collaboratively with the rest of the ORAC APP team. Job Description Join the University of Chicago Medicine as an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) for our Oncology Rapid Assessment Clinic (ORAC). The Advanced Practice Provider will be responsible for comprehensive direct patient care management and will manage patients by exercising autonomous decision making in the assessment, diagnosis, and initiation of delegated medical treatments. The APP will provide healthcare and patient services that may include educational, research, and clinical support, as well as administrative activities under the direction and supervision of the Cancer Service Line leadership. The APP has acquired the knowledge, skills, and judgment necessary to deliver high quality care to hematology/oncology patients. The Oncology Rapid Assessment Clinic (ORAC) i s an APP-staffed clinic area that cares for cancer patients who require urgent, same day/next day assessment and treatment.
