The Alaska Psychiatric Institute (API) is recruiting for a Psychiatric Nurse 1/2 What You Will Be Doing: As a Psychiatric Nurse 1/2 you will be providing skilled nursing care to patients; individualized patient assessment and care; participates in therapeutic activities as facilitator, or co-facilitator. You will administer medications to patients and provide education including expected outcomes, possible side effects, and any food/drug interactions. You will transcribe all orders, recording this information in each patient's Medication Administration Record (MAR) and chart regarding patient behavior and responses to medication treatment. Job requires complete nursing assessments on newly admitted patients, patients on close observation special status, or patients that may require emergency seclusion or restraint. Current Basic Life Support card required.
