The on-call caregiver should be a seasoned, experienced caregiver for senior citizens. HHA or CNA certification is desired, but a strong work history with elderly clients would be seriously considered if applicant was non-certified. The on-call caregiver has potential to make a significant amount of money. Full time work, overtime pay and a flat rate on call payment could all be combined in one pay period to make for a large payout. Referral bonus, sign on bonus, mileage pay, merit bonus, holiday pay and more are also available. The main function of the on-call caregiver is to be available outside of regular business hours to the On Call Supervisor in order to fill last minute call outs and urgent client needs. To assist clients in their own homes with activities of daily living, boost their spirits, and significantly improve their quality of life, by delivering quality and safe home health care services. The On Call Caregiver accepts responsibility for his/her own actions and: Agrees to be On Call during specific hours and specific days. Will be paid a stipend for being On Call in addition to an hourly wage for any hours worked with clients. Will return all phone calls within 15 minutes during the time period On Call. May receive calls at ANY time prior to or during the On Call Shift, i.e. may be called at midnight to go in for an overnight if On Call 8pm-8am. Must be able to leave to see a client within 30 minutes of getting a call from the On Call Supervisor. Will accept all assignments given during the time period On Call, regardless of location. This includes some assignments in assisted livings and hospice programs where we are assisting with staffing needs. Forfeits On Call stipend if refuses to comply with any of the above responsibilities. Provides necessary information on their own health status and experience. Reviews client care plans prior to providing care. Has reliable transportation to see any clients needing service during On Call time period. Communicates with the agency about problems and concerns. Completes required documentation accurately and on a timely basis. Respects and maintains client confidentiality at all times. Reports concerns of client abuse or neglect. Refrains from discussing personal problems, concerns, or opinions with client, or client representatives. Maintain access to an email account to receive client updates, schedule changes, company updates and highlights. Wear personal protective equipment in accordance with training procedures. Maintain a clean, insured vehicle that has had manufacturer’s recommended scheduled services. Performs all tasks as noted in HHA, CNA or PCA job description. Conducts chart audits. Ensures availability of supplies and equipment. Reports malfunctioning equipment to DNS/ADNS. Follows up with the physician and medical director as necessary to ensure compliance with scheduled visits. Assumes supervisor responsibility for the facility on 2nd and/or 3rd shifts and/or weekends. Audits emergency drug cart and crash cart to assure they are properly stocked. Audits control of drugs and counts controlled medications at the beginning and end of each shift. Ensures that all peripheral IVs are initiated per facility policy and monitors overall IV program. Ensures IV policy is updated annually. Responsible to assign nursing personnel in emergencies to maintain patient care hours. Assists in the recruitment, selection and of orientation nursing staff as needed. If facility directed, completes 90-day and annual employee performance reviews. Logs and returns all eligible medications to the pharmacy in a timely manner. If facility directed, assumes responsibility for Medicare residents by attending weekly Medicare meetings and assuring that certifications are completed. Attends meetings appropriately including but not limited to Fall Risk, Restraint, Wound Care, and Weight Loss meetings. Assumes any other duties as assigned by DNS/ADNS. Performs other related duties and attends meetings as may be deemed necessary by Supervisor / Administrator and or Director.

Job Summary and Qualifications The Nurse Extern PRN will work under the supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN), and assist the nursing staff in providing patient care. You will deliver high quality, patient-centered care services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living. · You will work closely with the clinical team to create and implement a care plan by performing direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of the licensed nurse. · Obtain and record initial and ongoing patient information throughout the cycle of care. · You will assist with patient mobility by regularly turning, positioning, and ambulating as well as transferring patients to and from other units/departments. · Translate complex medical terminology to ensure patients/families/caregivers understand patient medical condition, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects and follow up measures · Educate patients/families/caregivers on healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention and/or lifestyle changes that may be needed upon discharge and prepares for future self-management What qualifications you will need: · Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited school of nursing required and can perform higher-level procedures once competency is achieved. · Possess the ability to create and implement a personal career development plan, to be reviewed regularly by supervisor and/or preceptor · Completion of Nursing Fundamentals · Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. · Must possess Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) licensure.
