DUTIES: Handle all supervisory duties for assigned unit. Help establish and implement employee policies and procedures. Mentor less experienced nurses, offering clinical & career advice. Maintain the standards of care for the unit. Review of Resident records & quality of care. Monitor overall care & review individual Residents’ cases Address questions or complaints brought forward by Residents or their families. Represent the unit's interests with upper-level management. REQUIREMENTS: Must hold valid NYS RN License. 2 years Long Term Care Experience preferred. 1 year Charge Nurse experience preferred. Should have an excellent positive attitude to act as the leader of a group. Strong computer skills. Excellent communication skills.

Duties Description Participate in nursing activities, including the preparation, evaluation, and implementation of nursing care plans to ensure quality patient care Act as health liaison Coordinate and schedule medical follow-up, including completion of consultations. Provide first aid and emergency nursing care. Monitor and order pharmaceutical supplies for each individual Attend team reviews and present information, as needed Meet documentation requirement i.e. obtaining & transcribing physicians’ orders, daily nursing note, health charts, medication regimen reviews and case review summaries. Provide medication administration Maintain inventory standards for medication, controlled substances, medical supplies. Participate in staff training Prepare clinical and administrative reports Additional duties will be discussed in detail during the interview. Minimum Qualifications Transfer: One year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in this title or in a title eligible for 70.1 transfer. This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS).* Open to the Public: To be considered for appointment through NY HELPS, candidates must meet the open-competitive minimum qualifications for this position. The qualifications for this position are: Licensed and currently registered to practice nursing in New York State. Must maintain a valid New York State License and Registration. Additional Comments The shift is 2p-10p Sun/Mon Pass For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title may be filled via a non- competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply. At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. Employees will then be afforded with all of the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State. While serving permanently in a NY HELPS title, employees may take part in any promotion examination for which they are qualified. Salary Schedule For The Position Is As Follows $96,147-$114,334 - Posted Hiring Salary includes the sum of the statutory hiring rate for PS&T Grade 18 and Geographic Differential ($20,000).
